As some of you already know...last Monday my camera went kaput on me. In the middle of taking a ton of back-to-school pictures with friends the shutter just stopped releasing. I took this rather hard...I've been photographing my friend's kid's parties and now I wouldn't be able to shoot my own. Not to mention I was prepping for their back to school photos and their 4 and 6 year old shoots. I took it personally, I was mad (I still sort of am.) Anyway, there was nothing to be done and something has been rattling around in the lens for a while so I sent the whole thing in to be fixed (instead of just the body.) That was over a week ago, and I don't even have an estimate yet of what it might cost to fix it. I have been diligent in taking pictures every day with my point and shoot, but I am not sure how much longer I can really do that. We just bought a house and it takes a while for finances to recover, there have been a few extra expenses that have unexpectedly popped up as well. What I am saying is, depending on the cost I am not sure we will be able to fix the good camera. Without a DSLR to continue practicing what I've been slowly learning I really doubt I will continue to take pictures every day. I will keep you posted, but I am just trying to give you fair warning. For now, I will take out my little P&S every day and try (kinda) to keep up the pace at least until I know my camera's fate: hopefully in the next few days.
I am pretty sure this is what makes those stupid gypsy moth nests...
