There is nothing more fun than a visit with Grammy & Grampy! I think that's enough of an introduction and explanation...

Day 59--Fruit!
I finally didn't take pictures of the kids today (hey sometimes I have to pay attention to my domain name! Although, I still wasn't feeling particularly inspired...however, at least it is colorful!
I may not love this, but it does give me an idea for a future day...maybe at a better time of day for lighting...

Day 58--playdate!
Day 57--Party Time
Kaylee's friend, Mina, had a really fun Fancy Nancy birthday party yesterday. The cake was beautifully done and the girls each got dress up clothes and makeovers, then they did a fashion show and crafts. A job well done.
I also thought it was really nice that the family included Rowan in the invitation, when I called Jen (Mina's mom) to tell her that was nice but unnecessary I was told that it was Mina's idea and she's the birthday girl so she gets what she wants. Alright then, she is very sweet!
And while Leo didn't score an invite to the Fancy Nancy Party, he threw his own nap time party...don't we all wish we woke up this happy?

Day 56--Dinner Conversation
OK, so the reason for the 3 rapid fire posts...Hunger Games. SOOOOOOO good, I hate that it captivated me so easily, I promised myself I wouldn't like it. I read the book in 3 days! So, while I made sure I took pictures every day I was not willing to waste precious non-child time on the computer!
Anyway, since I am immediately progressing to Catching Fire...I give you my final catch-up post: Dinner Conversations.

Day 55--Leo at the bus stop
Leo's morning routine is being shaken up a bit, so he's been accompanying Kaylee and I at the bus stop lately. He absolutely LOVES the bus...he points at it as it rumbles down the road, "Cah!" he exclaims! His approximation of 'car' basically means any type of vehicle similarly to how "Mama" at best means 'woman' and at worst means 'any adult willin to give me attention.'

Day 51--Sh'bam with Sh'Heidi.
I am not going to waste time by trying to categorize why I love this collage. Its not going to make sense if you don't have the back story. So, lets just leave it at, the owner/instructor at my gym came WAY out of her comfort zone (so she says, she seemed to like it if you ask me) to teach a kind class that is not at all similar to the Combat and Pump we all know and love her for. Obviously, I couldn't let the opportunity pass without a few (ok maybe over 100) photos. So I give you the greatest fitness instructor ever: Heidi!

Day 50--An attempt at wildlife
OK, OK, it was an attempt. How close do you think the crow was going to let me get? I need a bigger lens! Still kind of fun.
In other news, I have signed up for a photography workshop in April. So, family, that's what I am getting for my birthday, the photography workshop, end of story. I am pretty excited about it, I expect to be able to get quite a bit out of it, including a need for more equipment which I will undoubtedly ask for for Christmas :) Wish me luck, less than 2 months!

Day 49--Sophie's Birthday!
Happy Birthday to our friend Sophie, who turned 6 last week and celebrated on Saturday with some of her friends!
But the weirdest thing happened, and I don't understand these photos, I don't understand what I did or why these came out the way I did, but they are still kind of cool and I am sort of hoping that someone looking will be able to explain it to me.
So, here's the first shot, relatively self-explanatory, I understand this...Kaylee was holding a tube of paper to her eye, I placed my lens very close to the end of the tube and snapped a shot when my shutter allowed me to. Fine.
But then, a mere count of 1 or 2 later, with my free hand covering the inch or two of space over the gap between the tube of paper and my lens...this is what I got. I think its part creepy and part cool but I don't understand why it looks like this. I changed nothing but the placement of my hand...which obviously given the placement would effect the light, but so drastically as to make her eye look like that? Weird!

Day 48--Really pissed
As any of you who follow me on facebook already know...I accidentally deleted all my pictures from today. I am very angered by this, because not only did I have different 'models' than I usually do, but I had a few really good ones that I was looking forward to posting. So for today, I give you: day 48, sub-par photos with grumpy undertones:

Day 44--My loves
I took lots and lots of pictures today, as a sort of penance for yesterday.
Today I decided to bring the camera to Kindergarten pick up since I generally have so much luck at Kindergarten send-off (read: waiting for the bus)
While waiting in car line, I had ample opportunity to photograph my 2 captive passengers.
The infant mirror clearly needs a cleaning, but I still thought it was a cool opportunity!
And then without the reflection...I really like the focal photo here!
And of course, Rowan, who internally (or sometimes externally) groans when I point the camera at her these days...and her many faces!
And finally, what I came to photograph: and here I was thinking, awww cute opportunity for my little girl and yet somehow it appears I ended up at the high school!

Day 43--Totally Lame
OK, well I don't have to cheat, because I did snap 2 photos yesterday but they were totally a joke and not meant for this project...however, life interfered and I did nothing else. So, yesterday, I proved that I (Leo) wrote thank you notes!
However, since I have to post them, I will say I do think the thank you notes themselves are super cute!
OK...well I did snap quite a few photos today, so tonight's post should be far less embarrassing, check back soon!

Day 40--Too Much Subject Matter
Kaylee has been asking for a haircut for a while now, so today I finally obliged. She didn't have quite enough to donate, but she loves her new do.
And since Kaylee wanted a haircut, obviously Rowan had to have one too. She did a great job sitting still and regaling the stylist with her wit.
Kaylee got her new do just in time to take it out for a test drive at tonight's daddy/daughter dance.
So tonight I had a lot of good pictures to go through. Please ignore the painter's tape on the windows, I have to get the sills and frames redone and the idea is that the tape will embarrass me into doing it faster/sooner.

Day 38--These Boots
Sorry that this is a day late, I actually had fun taking these pictures, but I had other things going on last night, so I am doing yesterday's and today's post now.
I decided to take a different angle on the bus stop...so today (yesterday) we have:
These Boots are Made for Walking!
I just may have to do this again with other shoes...

Day 36--Amateur vs Professional; Still Plenty to Learn
Ok, as a tangent, I know I have a bad memory, but I really don't remember being able to see the moon during the day as a child as often as I do now. At first, I chalked this up to not being particularly observant about such things...except that I do remember seeing the moon during the day as a kid and I remember it feeling special, infrequent. Now, I feel like it occurs pretty regularly. However, when I step outside with the dogs and the moon is framed within some tree branches, it clearly needs to be photographed. I clearly don't have a lunar lens (whatever that may be) but I really do love the moon.
Moving on to the non-tangential post...here is my photo shoot today with Leo...
And, I cannot disclaim this next part enough: I did NOT take these pictures, I just made the collages. However, the juxtaposition shows me I still have plenty to learn towards my resolution goal of never having to pay for photo sessions again after 2012.
Happy Super Sunday :)

Day 35--The We Love Tree
So back in the fall, the girls and I collected a bunch of sticks and dried them. We put them in a vase and every month/holiday we change the decorations on our "tree." We completed our February version today with hearts. We wrote (or in Rowan's case mostly drew) on these hearts all the things that we love.
So, I give you: Our "We Love" Tree...
And for those who need a cutie update. Leo is about to turn 1 and for his next trick, we're teaching him what a lion says...
